If the DC Smithsonian Folklife Festival wasn't enough for you, here is an annual festival going on this Saturday in Fairfax, VA at Ekoji Temple. The Obon Festival is a festival in loving memory of those who have passed away, featuring:
Candle Illumination
Temple Tours
Japanese Garden Viewing
Games for Children
Japanese Folk Dancing (participate!)
Food
And, the Nen Daiko Japanese Taiko Drummers (previously seen at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival) will be performing for us again!
Food sales begin at 5:30 p.m.
Folk Dancing begins at 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
This is going to be a refreshing evening of culture, dance, and food.
